Micro-entry: Quiet Baselines

lifenotessystems

After a burst of work, the nicest systems do not keep performing their effort. They settle back into a quiet baseline. CPU cools, queues empty, logs become boring again. That return matters. It tells you the spike was handled, not merely survived. People need the same thing: not constant intensity, just a place they can come back to. Good maintenance is partly about preserving that baseline so the ordinary shape of a day remains usable.
